Peter Parker's 10 Best-Looking Suits In Spider-Man 2

As the old saying goes, you can’t beat the classics and Peter’s Classic suit is still a head-turner. In Spider-Man 2, the compact look of Peter’s spider logo complements just how yoked the 25-year-old got in between the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Sometimes you’ve gotta show off your newfound muscle definition to friends and foes alike, and the classic suit does Peter wonders in this department. Congrats on your gains.

The Kumo (Japanese for “spider”) spider-suit is one of the best original costumes that Insomniac Games designed for Spider-Man 2. The suit takes inspiration from Japanese culture with its awesome irezumi body tattoo, jika-tabi footwear, and hokkamuri-style bandana. Plus, the suit has a trippy four-eyed design that’s sure to give goons trypophobia.

Not only is The Superior Spider-Man comic-book run one of the best contemporary Spider-Man stories, but it also has a spectacular spider-suit design. The Superior suit ditches the Classic suit’s blue-and-white colors and replaces them with a nice dark black that almost bleeds from the giant spider logo on its chest. It’s sick as hell. What makes the Superior suit even cooler is that it technically isn’t Peter’s costume. It’s Otto Octavious’ suit. Tldr; Doc Ock takes over Peter Parker’s body and becomes Spider-Man. Comic books are wild, folks.

The Scarlet Spider suit is the personification of less is more. Whereas other Spider-Man suits rely on intricate material patterns and busy colors, the Scarlet Spider suit keeps things simple by having Parker wear a nifty utility belt, wrist and ankle cuffs, and a blue sleeveless hoodie over an all-red suit. The Scarlet Spider suit is what makeshift cosplay dreams are made of and provides Spider-Man 2 with a sense of realism to what Peter might wear while web-slinging on a budget.

Much like Miles Morales’ Into the Spider-Verse look in, well…Miles Morales, Peter now has his own suit from the box office smash-hit animated film: the Noir suit. Unlike other webbed suits in Peter’s wardrobe, the Into the Spider-Verse Noir suit consists of an all-black trench coat and fedora. It’s giving Maltese Falcon, folks, and I’m here for it. The extra cherry on top when wearing the Noir suit is that Peter moves at a lower framerate similar to the animation technique of the movie, and it looks fantastic. Also, if you dive off a tall building while wearing this, like the Empire State Building, Peter will solve a Rubix cube mid-plummet. Make sure you have fall damage on before you make your leap of faith for hilarious results.

There’s nothing quite like looking better than your foes while wearing their outfit–especially if the foe in question is the tribalistic madman Kraven the Hunter. And I must say, Parker has that suit on. I can’t quite place whether my affinity for this suit lies in its Xander Cage-esque fur hood, its intricate leather stitching, or the ego death it likely deals Kraven knowing his “prey” rocked his fit better. Either way, it’s a look that I can’t stop admiring.

Like the Scarlet Spider suit, Spider-Punk is yet another ingenious remix of Spider-Man’s classic look with a sprinkle of attitude mixed in. The suit’s spiked mohawk, studded belt, scuffed kicks, denim jacket with an array of buttons, and a sick-ass giant spider patch on the back effortlessly fulfill the rules of cool criteria without looking too busy on the friendly neighborhood hero. Hopefully, Insomniac Games will give Miles Hobie Brown’s iconic Spider-Punk suit as DLC in the near future.

The classic Black Spider-Man suit is already a banger, but Insomniac’s gooey iteration of the costume is somehow even better. Unlike Peter’s other black arachnid suits, the Black suit’s inky splotches writhe at the seams of his neck like a bed of worms. It’s gross, but in a good way. To make matters worse(?), the suit gets even grosser by having more defined Twix-like veins jutting out of Parker’s shoulders the longer he’s attached to the symbiote. The Black suit’s grimy, vile look is just another part of its charm.

The Iron Spider Armor is a versatile suit that looks good in both daytime and nighttime. At one point in the comics Parker said no word could describe just how cool this armor is, and I can’t blame him. The suit, which was originally designed for the 2006 comic Civil War, was made by the billionaire playboy philanthropist Tony Stark using nanotechnology that would enhance Peter’s attacks. I still have no clue why Stark and the rest of the Avengers were M.I.A. during the cataclysmic events of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, but I thank them for leaving such a cool suit for Peter to clean up Venom’s mess in.

Nostalgia for director Sam Raimi’s 2007 Spider-Man 3 film may be a huge factor here, but there’s no denying the chokehold Tobey Maguire’s webbed black suit still has on pop culture. The suit’s metallic-looking web design in tandem with its smokey black and gray colors match both “Bully” Maguire and Insomniac Peter’s intense personality quite well. You can get lost in the game’s photo mode recreating both Spider-Man 3’s broody posters and its camp AF dance sequences.
