Bonk was really positioned as the equal to Mario and Sonic back in the day. Turned out that was mostly just marketing. Truth is, Bonk was just kind of a generic platformer with some above average sprite work for its main character and bosses, which made it look good in ads. Read more

The first game is cool but kinda boring to play. I ended up watching a YouTube playthrough before getting into AW2. Read more

I didn’t mention Fortnite because (to me at least) its long been a brand playground that I don’t even think about as having a distinct universe anymore. (I know it has lore, but even that is intermingled with BRANDS) Read more

Can you believe that? It’s like they only see players as walking wallets!” Can you believe that? It’s like they only see players as walking wallets!” Read more

Another issue I have with EPIC achievements is that the overlay often loses connection to the server after about an hour of play, and the achievements don’t trigger unless it’s connected. In some circumstances this can kill a save file. (Or in one particular case, force you to completely scrub your cloud data.) Read more

I always get a chuckle when that happens on Playstation too. You’ll witness a tragic conclusion to a chapter, high drama, possibly a character death and “Ding!” Trophy pop “Ouch That Hurt! (Beat Chapter 4)"  Read more

AS an airline pilot I can tell you that descending 28,000 in ten minutes is 2800FPM which is not a plunge at all. It’s actually a litle slower than I would expect for a depressurization which at that rate wasn’t explosive and probably a fault of the air con packs which pressurize the plane meaning it would slowly lose Read more

They thought they could get out of that soup because they had a Wrangler. Turns out Wranglers don’t have special anti-soup abilities. That fucker dug itself in so deep that it’s probably going to need a back hoe to recover. Read more

What the heck happened to that Wrangler? Looks like the mud rose up and swallowed the rear wheel Read more

I love using and fine-tuning a lot of accessibility options. Even if I don’t need them, they still improve the experience as an aging player. The Last of Us 2 is like the high watermark with that, which all AAA studios should try to meet or exceed. Read more
